August 22 Update
New Paint in Brown and Williams Halls
In addition to the new air conditioning in Brown and Williams Halls, the NEC family will notice some other enhancements when they return next week—new paint! As the coda to the construction work that included opening up ceiling panels to accommodate needed duct work, the work crews are completing the job with a fresh coat of paint.
Brown will now be a wonderful light-catching yellow—which will be all the more welcome when the temporary acoustic window treatments are installed this fall to protect against the disruptions of Northeastern’s building project. In the photo taken earlier today, the walls are uniformly yellow. That’s just the first step. Once the first coat is applied throughout, the painters will tip in the off-white trim, highlighting the handsome moldings in the room. Mike Ryan, Director of Operations and Facilities, promises that the hall will be ready for this weekend’s Orientation events.
Similarly, Williams Hall is getting a new coat of paint. The color is a slightly more gray version of the light blue that was previously on the walls. Like Brown, the trim will also be highlighted in off-white. Williams will be finished tomorrow and will be ready for use this weekend.
