July 27, 2012 Update
Sixteen workers were on site today and they will be working tomorrow (Saturday, July 28). Security personnel will be on premises to secure the buildings at all times.
In preparation for installing the ductwork for the air conditioning, we have removed all the plaster at the six openings in Brown Hall; the staging is complete in Brown hall; and the framing of the ornamental ceiling will begin tomorrow. Floor protection has been installed under all staging
The staging in Williams Hall, which is also being prepared for air conditioning, is installed with the exception of one tower on the stage.
We have been using HEPA filters and poly containment during all demolition and all work areas have been swept and mopped each night.
Duct work is scheduled to be delivered on Monday (July 30) with installation to follow.
Roof exploratory work for the Jordan Hall building is scheduled for Wednesday. This is necessary to ascertain what structural reinforcement will be necessary to support the new emergency electrical generator that will be installed. The generator will increase our capacity to provide electricity in the building in the event of a power outage.
